Founded in 1980 by a small group of community leaders, the Indo-American Democratic Organization (IADO) is Illinois’ premier political advocacy organization for the state’s growing and vibrant South Asian American community. Since its inception, we have become a strong, unified voice for the South-Asian Americans in Chicago and Illinois. Our mission: Advocate on behalf of the South Asian community on issues such as Social Security, Medicare, Healthcare, Education, Immigration and efforts to combat hate crimes. Engage South Asians in the political process. Recruit and support candidates to run for public office
